Wilson (FL-24) led a bipartisan group of Members of Congress in the introduction of a resolution condemning the abduction of Nigerian school girls by the terrorist group Boko Haram, which has claimed responsibility. MIAMI - Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (FL-24) issued this statement following the news that the bodies of the three Israeli teenagers - who were abducted on June 12, 2014 while returning home from school - were found today near Hebron.

"Just last night, I spoke at the Jewish Federation of Broward County Solidarity Rally in support of the 'Bring Back Our Boys' campaign, started to bring awareness to the kidnapping of the three boys.

Wilson (FL-24) will present the Miami-Dade County Police Department (MDPD) with a $1,000,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to help reduce crime and violence in the county's highest crime area, the Northside District. The check will be presented at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the Northside District Station located at 799 NW 81 Street Miami, Florida 33150. Congresswoman Wilson worked closely with the MDPD to secure the grant issued under the Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program (BCJI).
