"I applaud Haiti's citizens for finding the strength to set their struggles aside and wish them the best as they pursue the Herculean task of conducting an election in the aftermath of the hurricane. The sooner a new government is in place, the quicker Haiti will be able to recover from the various natural disasters it has faced and begin to grow and thrive."

After a day spent cleansing their bodies and purifying their souls, families, neighbors and friends gather for Iftar, to break fast and express their gratitude for the blessings that God has bestowed upon them.

Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson today traveled to Panama for the opening of the expanded Panama Canal. With its capacity nearly tripled, the canal will be able to accommodate bigger ships carrying up to 14,000 containers of goods from China and other parts of Asia to the East Coast. The expansion also opens up new markets for U.S. businesses, such as the shipment of natural gas.
