My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, the surviving victims for their quick recovery, and everyone touched by this senseless tragedy.
MIAMI - In observance of National HIV Testing Day (NHTD), Monday, June 27, 2016, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) and other elected officials will take confidential HIV tests and encourage the public to join them in taking the test. Free HIV testing will be available on Monday, June 27, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at six locations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
MIAMI - Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson today applauded the U.S. Department of Education's award of Federal TRIO grants to Miami-Dade and Broward Colleges. Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson issued the following statement today in response to the release of 21 Chibok girls after being held in captivity for 912 days by the terrorist group Boko Haram.
"I was elated to learn today that Boko Haram has released 21 of the Chibok girls who have been living in captivity for more than 900 days. According to news reports, the International Red Cross and the government of Switzerland helped to negotiate their release. In addition, it is believed that no Boko Haram terrorists were exchanged as part of the deal, which also is good news.
