Working Families with New Government Funding Package
Today, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson voted to make historic investments in American jobs, opportunity and working families with H.R. 4502, a package to fund the federal government in the next fiscal year. This essential legislation will improve the health and financial security of American families - while also investing in clean energy, public health and education to set America up for future success.
Today, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson applauded House passage of the "Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation in America (INVEST in America) Act," which includes funding for 11 projects in Florida's 24th congressional district. Rep. Wilson fought to ensure the projects were included in the INVEST in America Act, which makes transformational investments in America's highways, roads, bridges, transit, rail, and water infrastructure to create jobs, modernize our infrastructure and reduce carbon pollution.
Today Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson proudly voted for the passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act, which strengthens and closes loopholes in the 1963 Equal Pay Act, including providing effective remedies for workers who are not being paid equal pay for equal work.
"House Democrats have passed this landmark legislation three times, but due to Republican opposition, it failed in the Senate. I am hopeful that with a new majority and administration that it will soon become law," said Congresswoman Wilson.

Ron DeSantis to further extend a voter registration deadline to midnight Wednesday after heavy traffic crashed the state's online enrollment system Monday, potentially preventing thousands of would-be voters from signing up to cast ballots in next month's presidential election.
Miami, FL - Congresswoman Wilson introduced this week H.R. 7607, the Masks for All Act, which would require the use of face masks in all public spaces and outside when one cannot maintain a physical distance of six feet or more from anyone who is not a member of the same household. The legislation also calls for increased funding to states through grants to promote universal access to face masks as an emergency response to the national coronavirus pandemic.
