Miami, FL - Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) released the following statement following the grand jury's decision in the Michael Brown case:

"I am left numbed and saddened by the Ferguson Grand Jury's decision not to indict Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager. How many more young black men will have to die before there is an end to the mistreatment of people of color? Where is the justice for Michael Brown and the thousands of black men who have died in a similar manner?

Wilson (FL-24) congratulates the Miami-Dade County Police Department (MDPD) on being awarded a $1,000,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to help reduce crime and violence in the county's highest crime area, the Northside District. Miami, FL- Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) issued the following statement today as police investigate the discovery of two Molotov cocktails found Wednesday night near a shattered window at Missouri Congressman Emanuel Cleaver's district office in Kansas City.

The incident comes in the wake of protests and the federal investigation into the death of 18 year-old Michael Brown, a black teenager, who was shot and killed by a white, Ferguson, Missouri, police officer.

Sotloff was captured by the terrorist group ISIL on August 4, 2013. Sotloff had been working as a freelance journalist and had covered the Arab Spring for almost two years just before his capture.
