"Under less than ideal circumstances, the citizens of Haiti on November 20 helped their nation take an important step toward governance. I applaud Haiti for achieving its goal to hold the election in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew and congratulate Jovenel Moise, the apparent winner of the presidential contest. District 24 includes one of the nation's largest Haitian communities and I look forward to working with Haiti as it continues moving forward."

Provide Free Health Screenings and HIV Testing on World AIDS Day

MIAMI - Hundreds of people across Miami-Dade and Broward counties lined up to get free, confidential HIV/AIDS tests on World AIDS Day, a global health day observed annually on December 1. The multi-site testing event was hosted by Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, in partnership with Walgreens and several local health clinics.

Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed bipartisan legislation introduced by Representatives Frederica Wilson (D-FL), Bill Posey (R-FL), John Culberson (R-TX), Gene Green (D-TX), and Rod Blum (R-IA) to recognize and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing with a commemorative coin. (July 20, 2019 is the actual anniversary.)

This annual survey also assesses healthy behavior, work environment, and access to health services.
