Congresswoman Wilson's Statement on Memorial Day
Today, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) issued the following statement on Memorial Day:
"Since 1968, we have used the final Monday in May to honor our men and women in uniform who made the ultimate sacrifice. Memorial Day is not just the traditional start of summer, when we enjoy cookouts, go to the beach and attend a parade. Today, we pay tribute to those who gave their lives to protect our country and our freedom. Let us honor our fallen soldiers on the day we remember them by rededicating ourselves to the American ideals they fought to uphold."
