Congresswoman Frederica Wilson’s Statement on the Rescission Package

Today, July 18, 2025, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson issued a statement regarding the passage of the Rescission package, to which she voted ‘NO’:

“We are defunding Sesame Street, programs like Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and all of the wonderful programming for preschoolers that have shaped generations of 'little just-wannabe-good-citizens children.' And so many of us, while riding in the car, are kept up to date on what’s in the news from our historic local WLRN and the always-reliable PBS channels. And for what? To give tax breaks to greedy billionaires who, if they spent 10 million dollars a day for the next 50 years, would still be rich.”
