Today, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) issued the following statement after she voted against the House Republicans’ so-called Small Business Tax Cut:
“The House Republicans’ so-called small business tax cut does nothing to address the number one concern of small business owners – the lack of business. If the Republicans really wanted to help small businesses, they would focus on creating good-paying jobs for teachers, first responders, construction workers and skilled tradesmen, putting more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans. Another Republican bill giving the largest tax breaks to law firm partners and consultants is not the answer. This proposal is a $46 billion gift to Americans who don’t need it, and will lead to delays in investment and hiring. I urge my Republican colleagues to reverse course and focus on building an American Dream that is available to all people.”
