Congresswoman Wilson Honors Our Veterans, Praises President Obama's "We Can't Wait" Initiative to Get Veterans Back to Work

Wilson: “To Florida’s 1.6 Million Veterans, Thank You for Your Incredible Service and Dedication”

Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (FL-17) issued the following statement in observance of Veterans Day:

“Today, we honor the work and sacrifice of all our veterans, who have dedicated their lives in service of our country,” said Congresswoman Wilson. “We especially remember those who have paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.

“Over the past decade, our military families have faced immense challenges and, today, we recommit ourselves to supporting members of our armed forces and their loved ones in both word and deed. This is why I support President Obama’s plan to provide tax credits to firms that hire unemployed veterans and wounded warriors – some of the most highly-skilled candidates for job openings. The 12.1% jobless rate for unemployed post-9/11 veterans is unacceptable, which is why we need initiatives just like this to match employers with qualified applicants.”

“To Florida’s 1.6 million veterans, thank you for your incredible service and dedication.”
