Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson Marks the 5th Anniversary of the Haiti Earthquake

Miami, FL – Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) released this statement on the 5th anniversary of the devastating earthquake that shook Haiti on January 12, 2010:

"On this 5th anniversary of the catastrophic earthquake that crippled Haiti, we remember the fallen and pray for those still without homes. I am encouraged by the tremendous progress that has been made to rebuild Haiti and it is my hope that peace will come to the country following free and democratic elections," said Congresswoman Wilson.

Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson is a third-term Congresswoman from Florida representing parts of Northern Miami-Dade and Southeast Broward counties. A former state legislator and school principal, she is the founder of the 5000 Role Models for Excellence Project, a mentoring program for young males at risk of dropping out of school.
