MIAMI, FL – Today, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (FL-24) honors two students from the district receiving the coveted Fulbright Award. The Fulbright Program is the largest U.S. exchange program that offers opportunities for students and young professionals to study, conduct research, and teach in other countries. It was established by Congress in 1946 to promote mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the rest of the world. “I am very proud of Jethro Cessant and Caroline Kaine for having received the prestigious Fulbright Award,” said Congresswoman Wilson. “As a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, a former teacher, school board member, and principal, I am thrilled that Jethro and Caroline are serving as teaching assistants and ambassadors of U.S. culture.” Jethro Cessant attends the University of Miami, and received an English Teaching Assistantship in South Korea. Caroline Kaine attends the College of William and Mary, and received an English Teaching Assistantship in Russia.
