Today, U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) today issued the following statement on Pope Benedict's Visit to Cuba:

“I am wishing safe travels and return to those taking the pilgrimage in honor of the Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Cuba. I also send well wishes to the many South Florida parishioners who will take part in masses marking his visit throughout the week. As you celebrate the 400th anniversary of ‘Our Lady Charity,’ may you find peace and inspiration.”

Pope Benedict XVI will travel to Cuba from March 26 to March 28. This is the first papal visit to Cuba in 14 years.
