Today, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) released the following statement regarding the agreement between Israel and Hamas to release multiple hostages held in Gaza in exchange for a humanitarian pause and the release of Palestinian prisoners.

“After hearing the cries and anguish of American and Israeli families for over a month, I'm grateful for the release of many of the hostages in Gaza as part of a humanitarian pause deal brokered under President Biden's leadership between Israel and Hamas.

“I'm also glad that much-needed aid will be allowed to flow into Gaza to address the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people. While this deal does not mark the end of this conflict, we have taken a monumental step toward our shared goal of securing the release of the hostages held by Hamas. I thank the President for his instrumental role in brokering this agreement. As we acknowledge this progress, my unwavering support remains with Israel's ongoing efforts to secure the release of all hostages still held by Hamas.”
