Every year, Congress is responsible for allocating funding for offices, programs and grants administered by the federal government. I have the opportunity to advocate on behalf of programs that are important to Florida’s 24th Congressional District.
Funding requests do not guarantee funding for any individual program. These requests should not be confused with grant applications and do not provide the opportunity to request a funding award for a specific non-profit entity or project. In order to be submitted for consideration, all requests must comply with all House rules. Specifically, requests may not constitute earmarks, defined by House Rule XXI as:
“Providing, authorizing or recommending a specific amount of discretionary budget authority, credit authority, or other spending authority for a contract, loan, loan guarantee, grant, loan authority, or other expenditure with or to an entity, or targeted to a specific State, locality or Congressional district, other than through a statutory or administrative formula-driven or competitive award process.”
This year, our office will be accepting programmatic and language requests for the FY23 appropriations process electronically.
Please direct any questions about the request process to FL 24 Appropriations at FL24.Appropriations@mail.house.gov.
