HAPPENING THIS FRIDAY OCTOBER 21st: Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson and Commissioner Barbara Jordan to Host Driver’s License Reinstatement Event

MIAMI – Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara Jordan, in conjunction with the Public Defender, Eleventh Judicial Circuit County Court Criminal Division, and the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, will host a driver’s license reinstatement event this Friday, October 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building.

More than 1.5 million people in Florida have had their licenses suspended for a variety of reasons including seat belt violations, unpaid traffic tickets, and broken tail lights. The reinstatement event will help more than 400 Miami-Dade County residents restore their driving privileges.

“A suspended license prevents many people from getting to work or school which can affect their ability to provide for their family and improve their quality of life,” said Congresswoman Wilson. “This event will allow many to pay a reinstatement fee and have their driving privileges restored. This is an opportunity for redemption for many.”
