Congresswoman Frederica Wilson’s Statement on the Fifteenth Anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks
Washington, DC,
September 9, 2016
Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson today issued the following statement in recognition of 9/11. “Fifteen years ago, our nation suffered the worst terrorist acts on U.S. soil in our nation’s history. Today, we honor all of the lives lost that day, and express our deep gratitude for the first responders’ incredible bravery and selflessness. We thank and praise the men and women of uniform who made the ultimate sacrifice in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks. “As we reflect on this terrible tragedy, we must also remember how in the aftermath our country came together to heal. This commitment to one another saw us rebuild the Pentagon and erect a new World Trade Center taller than either of the previous towers. These feats highlight the strength of our great nation and what we can achieve when we are unified. “Let us pledge to serve one another in remembrance of the powerful spirit that bound our nation together following the attacks.” |
