Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) announced today that iconic civil and human rights activist Congressman John Lewis (GA-5) will visit Booker T. Washington Senior High School to share with students his experiences during the Civil Rights Movement.
MIAMI, FL- Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) announced today that iconic civil and human rights activist Congressman John Lewis (GA-5) will visit Booker T. Washington Senior High School to share with students his experiences during the Civil Rights Movement. Congressman Lewis’s visit will take place at 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013. The school is located at 1200 NW 6th Avenue, in Miami. Congresswoman Wilson and Congressman Lewis are longtime friends and were classmates at Fisk University during the Civil Rights Movement.“It is an honor to have an American hero like Congressman John Lewis visit Booker T. Washington Senior High School to speak to students and to share his experiences in the struggle for civil and human rights.Congressman Lewis is one of this year’s featured guest speakers at Miami Book Fair International which is sponsored by Miami-Dade College.
