Congresswoman Frederica Wilson released the following statement honoring the life of Mrs. Lillian Miles Lewis, the wife of Congressman John Lewis (GA-05), who passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012, and was laid to rest today at funeral services inside the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Lillian Miles Lewis, my colleague and former college classmate’s wife. Lillian was a devoted spouse and mother, and I am grateful for her contributions to the world as a community leader and lifelong educator. My heartfelt condolences and prayers are with the Lewis family during this difficult time.” Congresswoman Frederica Wilson and Congressman John Lewis both attended Fisk University and serve together in the U.S. House of Representatives. ### U.S. Rep. Frederica S. Wilson is a second-term Congresswoman from Florida representing parts of Northern Miami-Dade and Southeast Broward counties.
