Who/What:Congresswoman Wilson serving as a panelist at the conference’s Town Hall meeting, “The Time is NOW: Connection and Advocacy = Effective Results”, an opportunity for members of the Sorority and public to address public policy issues related to health, global poverty, economic security, social justice and human rights. The panel will be moderated by Democratic strategist and CNN contributor Donna Brazile.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is an international service organization with more than 260,000 members in over 957 chapters through the United States and six countries. The Public Policy Conference is sponsored by the International Connection Committee to afford members of the Sorority the opportunity to network, collaborate and advocate for issues germane to the program initiatives for the current administration, “Global Leadership through Timeless Service.”

Rep. Frederica S. Wilson is a first-term congresswoman representing the 17th District of Florida, including Northern Miami-Dade and Southeast Broward Counties. She is a former state legislator and school principal and the founder of the 5000 Role Models for Excellence Project, a mentoring program for young males at risk of dropping out of school.
