Miami, Fla. – Today, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) released the following statement regarding Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's decision to not seek reelection to leadership and remain in Congress to serve her district:

"During my time in Congress, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been my rock and a formidable, incomparable force in the U.S. House of Representatives. For the last two decades, she has guided this chamber through some of the most challenging times in our nation and has continued to be the central driving force behind the most significant legislative accomplishments achieved on behalf of the American people. 

“From historic climate change investments and significant civil rights achievements to rescuing our country from the depths of a recession and global pandemic, Speaker Pelosi's relentless dedication to the American people has never faltered. Reflecting on Speaker Pelosi's legacy, I do not doubt that the history books will reflect that she stands as the most consequential Speaker of all time, and it is the privilege of a lifetime to call her a friend and mentor. 

“I know this deeply personal decision was not easy to make, but she has made it with great consideration for herself and her family.
