Miami, FL – On Thursday, July 8, at 1:00 p.m., Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson will lead a press conference to respond to the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse and to call for U.S. support and unity among Haiti's citizens during this turbulent period. She will be joined by several local elected officials and members of the Haitian Community.

"News of President Moïse's assassination and the shooting of his wife, Martine, has shocked the world. Now more than ever we must do everything in our power to support Haiti and its citizens who were already facing several crises on critical fronts," said Congresswoman Wilson. "I am fully committed to working with the Biden administration to provide Haiti with the resources necessary to keep the nation safe and secure as this crisis unfolds."
