Congresswoman Wilson Joining House Judiciary Committee Democrats' Briefing on Racial Profiling and Hate Crimes

Today, U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) announced that she will be participating in a House Judiciary Committee briefing on racial profiling and hate crimes on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 3:00 pm.

Today, U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) announced that she will be participating in a House Judiciary Committee briefing on racial profiling and hate crimes on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 3:00 pm. The briefing will assess the role of the federal government regarding racial profiling and hate crime issues. Rep. Wilson asked for this briefing in response to the Trayvon Martin case. At her request, Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Chairman of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc., and Robert Parker, former Director of the Miami-Dade Police Department and Community Liaison for the 5,000 Role Models of Excellence project, will provide testimony.

The parents of Trayvon Martin will be attending the briefing.

The witness list for the briefing will include the following. AFTER the briefing, a media availability will occur in the Rayburn Horseshoe.
