Three officials elected to Miami-Dade Women's Hall of Fame

WLRN, April 4

The Miami-Dade Women’s Hall of Fame has inducted three elected officials.

The induction during this week's county commission meeting honored Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, Former Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, the first woman to hold the county’s top job, gave remarks during the induction.

"We must continue to build a world that respects and values the immeasurable contributions of all women and advocating for women of our communities, and building a more equitable playing field," Levine Cava said.

Congresswoman Wilson has worked to lower high school dropout rates through her 5000 Role Models Program.

Former Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen is the first Cuban American elected to congress, and State Attorney Rundle is Florida’s first-elected Cuban American state attorney.
