WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) issued the following statement on the tragic shooting rampage in Aurora, Colorado:
“My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those killed and injured in Aurora, Colorado. What should have been an enjoyable night out at the movies ended in unspeakable tragedy. As a mother and grandmother, I extend my sincerest condolences to those who lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence.”
Rep. Frederica S. Wilson is a first-term Congresswoman from Florida representing parts of Northern Miami-Dade and Southeast Broward Counties. A former state legislator and school principal, she is the founder of the 5000 Role Models for Excellence Project, a mentoring program for young males at risk of dropping out of school.
